What is the NaLA-System? NaLa is an unprecedented new net shape simulation system which was developed through industry–university collaboration with Associate professor Tsutomu Takagi of Kinki University (a professor of Hokkaido University now). This system displays the entire shape of fishing gear in water which is practically hard to see and changes in net shape in optional current directions and speeds on your PC monitor as 3D moving images by the numerical calculation. It allows analyzing the volume of the net, the arrival depth and the load on the ropes, etc. This NaLA system allows us to supply the most appropriate fishing gear which customer require. Nitto Seimo is developing pneumatic hauling nets to support the hauling operations. The world’s first technology (Patent pending) of settling an entire large farming cage is also applied to trap nets, and operations leading fish to the final section of the bag net can be reduced. Oceanographic surveys Understanding of seabed topography is important to designing nets and increasing fish catch efficiency in installation of trap nets and fish farming nets. Nitto Seimo is offering various surveys and support depending on customer needs. ・We analyze data of fishing ground surveys and support installation of the most appropriate nets in consideration of geography, distance from adjacent fishing grounds and active fishing periods. ・We create drawings of seabed topographies using fish detectors and sonar. ・We judge the fishing ground by understand installation directions and current speed by placing a current meter near the net for a while because the installation angle against a current is an important element in preventing the deformation. ・When any reef or rock is found by the survey, we make sure the geometry by ROV (Remotely operated vehicle). ・It is possible to visually confirm an installed net and breakage of a net. ・We grasp movement of school of fish around and in the net by installation of sonars. ・We measure drift of the net by a net depth meter.

Orbiting debris (space debris) is dangerous because they collide with operating satellites and destruction. And they could be broken to millions small pieces by collisions each other. The number of debris could exponentially increase by the collisions. Before the area around orbit would become unusable because of great deal of them, it is necessary to take measures to prevent the problem. “A debris removal system” is a method which can basically solve the debris problem. Nitto Seimo strives to develop a string like net, called a “Conductive net tether”, in collaboration with JAXA based on our knotless net technology. Nitto Seimo high specific gravity net Ester K Long-awaited reproduction “EK” was used for trap nets domestically until 2000, and earned a very good reputation; however, we suspend the sales because unfortunately the original yarn manufacturer was discontinued. As we received strong demand from our customer that they need such nets which would not drift by current, like the past “EK”, so we try internal manufacturing and mass-production of a metallic nylon. Our knotless net was born in 1925. All preceding nets were knotted nets. It was understood that the knotless net was the ideal, however, it was considered impossible to mass-produce them. The founder of Nitto Seimo, Teruaki Kobayashi, succeeded in the world’s first mass-production and put these nets onto the market. Since then, Nitto Seimo has always leaded the field of knotless nets. Knotless net Knotted net 無結節網とは 無結節網は撚をかけながら糸を互いに交差させて網目を作ります。 結び目が無いので、従来の網と比べて強度のある網を作る事が出来ます。 更に有結節網と比べ、結節部分が平坦なので嵩張らず軽量な網を作る事が出来ます。 その上、水中での抵抗が減る事、魚が傷つき難くなる事で、魚の商品価値が高まる等、非常に多くのメリットがあります。 有結節網とは 有結節網とは、撚った糸を結び合わせて作ります。 しかしながら、結び目部分は引っ張る力には弱く、網が破れる大きな原因の一つとなっていました。 更に、結節部分が、飛び出している為、水中での抵抗を受ける事、更に結節で魚を傷め、商品価値が下がる事もありました。 Advantages of knotless nets Our knotless nets offer the following significant advantages in comparison with knotted nets conventionally used. Strength All knotted line is broken at the knot by strong tension because the tension is concentrated on the knot. The knotless net doesn’t have the knot. It is 20 to 30% stronger than knotted nets. Lightweight and no bulky The knotless net is 20 to 40% lighter than knotted nets of the same type and number of fiber. It is similarly less bulked so it saves space on a fishing vessel. Less water resistance The knotless nets show good performances in settling, drifting and draining because there are no knots. The net drifting is important not only for ensuring enough space for fish to swim but also for safety operation. Keeping fish quality Fish get damage by jumping or struggling in nets. “Fukuyama Factory” is located in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture and “Hakodate Factory” is located in Hokuto City, Hokkaido. The “Fukuyama Factory” mainly manufactures knotless nets and “Moji” nets. The “Hakodate Factory” manufactures various ropes, special knotless nets and knotted nets. Each factory keeps respect of traditional “Manufacturing” which we have been engaged in for many years, in addition there is a QMS promotion chamber individually for controlling quality by the latest management system.
